Generative Art

Some generative works produced using WebGL – each image is a snapshot of a 3D particle cloud containing between 40,000 and 160,000 particles. The particles are animated using simple rules which give rise to complex patterns and behaviours – this is very much an exploratory, iterative process. I generally dislike the “interactive” particle installations that people are fond of waving about in front of, so I see the static nature of these images coupled with the sculptural qualities they possess as a response to that.
